Do you ever wonder?
Have you ever sat still for a moment to reflect on why God called you? What was it that interested the God of all glory in appointing you for such a work? Why were you the one called for that 'thing'? I have found myself buried in those types of questions from time to time. "I did not ask for this!" I find myself saying, then it suddenly becomes apparent, "Are you sure about that?"
Were you the child who looked out for others? Were you the family member who had a unique "sixth" sense about things that were taking place behind the scenes? Were you the one on the job enraged over even the slightest whim of injustice? Were you the one watching the evening news while mumbling to yourself, "Something has to be done?" Well, my friend, that yearning of your heart to effect change and to improve the lives of others was the catalyst that launched you to where you are right now!
You may be saying, "But, I am not doing anything with this call! No one's pulling on me! I do not see any doors opening!" Well, who said this was about what you see? The fact that you have made yourself available says a lot and is what is already making the difference in the lives of those around you.
Do not ever underestimate the value of your PRESENCE! Being on that job, sitting in that classroom, working next door in the cubicle, answering that phone, or just lending a helping hand in a Walmart parking lot are all fruits of your purpose. Purpose is not always LOUD. Purpose can be a friendly smile, a gentle nod, a firm handshake, or a warm embrace. You may have no idea what your PRESENCE means in someone's life, and they may never tell you either! You have to know that you are working your purpose each and every day. Fulfilling your purpose may not come with applause, balloons, or an award, but just know that God sees and He is a rewarder! Psalm 84:11, "For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly."
Be encouraged friends, and continue to do what the Holy Spirit leads you to. You may not see immediate results, but who said you had to?
